Detection and analysis of peaks in monthlydata of sunspot numbers

Features like peaks constitute one of the simpler anomalies inperiodic signals ; they do not alter signal periodicity and can be easilycharacterized by a set of consistent methods. We have analyze the monthlysunspot data from January 1749 to February 2005 to search for its periodicityby the method of Rayleigh power spectrum analysis and the peaks obtained bythis method are further analyzed by Integral method in order to determine theirconfidence levels
