The Indian Thar desert has many tribal groups that all have distinct cultures. Tribe is a social group who is known more near to nature and uses their surroundings for food, fiber and shelter. They have established a cordial relationship with the environment where both are benefitted from each other. The tribes present all over the world have formulated their traditions and customs to live their lives effectively and in a healthy way. Taboos and totems are an inherent part of their culture. Taboos are the unwritten, orally transmitted traditional and social rules that regulate human behavior (Colding and Folke, 1997; Banjo etal., 2006).
