It was my last chance to photograph Britain's puffins before they headed out to sea for winter, and I was determined not to miss the opportunity. So 1 was happy to be asked to test the new Canon EF 70-30omm f/4~5.6L IS USM lens just as I was leaving to photograph this charismatic seabird. At Hermaness, on the Shetland island of Unst, 20,000 puffins nest on the clifftops.The last of theyear's chicks had fledged, and the adults were getting itchy feet. I was just in time.
