摘要

An elasto-plastic ring is pulled apart by two forces. As force is increased, the ring deforms in three stages. Stage I is elastic and reversible. In stage II, two plastic hinges appear. In stage III, two additional plastic segments start to lengthen. The problem is governed by the normalized forceFand a parameter #x1D6CC; that represents plasticity. The large deformation equations are solved by perturbations for small and largeFand are integrated numerically. The results are especially useful to components with small #x1D6CC;, e.g., fiber-reinforced composites.
