摘要

Attacks by militants on a gas pipeline in Yemen that feeds intoa LNG terminal reduced supplies and could cause fuel shortagesat power plants in the Boston area this summer if there is anextended heat wave or an unexpected outage at a power plant, according to ISO NEW ENGLAND, which runs the regionalpower grid. “Under normal system conditions, we expect tohave adequate supplies to satisfy consumer demand,” said ISONew England spokeswoman Ellen Foley. Foley said there is a10 chance of the Boston area seeing extreme summer weatherconditions. Still, Foley said the ISO is monitoring the situationwith LNG deliveries and working to develop a special operationsplan that can be updated daily.
