As a microprocessor for SoC, the followings are required: high performance and low power and guarantee of system performance. AM34-1 is a 32 bit RISC Microprocessor core for Digital TV SoC. AM34-1 is 14.8 mm{sup}2 in 0.13μm CMOS process technology with six layers of Cu. The core is running at 400 MHz clock frequency and the average power dissipation is 500 mW at 1.35 V, 400 MHz. The integrated 4.0 GB/s, 3×4 cross-bar bus switch significantly improves the sustained system performance efficiency, 1.75 times.
