What do a roll of calculator tape, a tennis ball, food dye and marbles all have in common? In the hands of Andrew Landers they become the means for illustrating economical ways of testing sprayer performance and understanding the efficacy of dropletssprayed at different sizes. Landers, a pesticide application technology specialist with Cornell University based at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, was recently in Australia running a series of seminars and demonstrations on behalf of the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC).
