In future cellular networks, large array antennas will be deployed in base stations (BSs) in order to increase the capacity and energy efficiency. This will make it possible to estimate the angle of arrival (AoA) more accurately in AoA based positioning. Because of limitations on BS deployment, there exist situations that only two BSs are available. When mobile station (MS) stays near the line between the two BSs, large estimation errors are caused by the so-called dilution of precision (DoP) effect. In this paper we propose an accuracy enhancement method that utilizes received signal strength (RSS) ratio in position estimation calibration for DoP effect. Through simulation, we find that calibration is needed when AoA is less than 8 degrees. Within this range, our proposal can reduce the 90-percentile position estimation error to about 1/6 of that in our previous calibration method.
