The secret to Sauvignon Blanc at Nepenthe

Some of Australia's best Sauvignon Blanc's come from South Australia's Adelaide Hills and among the producers best-known for their Sauvignon Blancs in the region is Nepenthe Wines. Group viticulturist Murray Leake provides some history on Sauvignon Blanc production at Nepenthe and some insight into how the variety is managed in its vineyards together with input from the winery's group winemaker, Peter Leske, on some winemaking aspects. Nepenthe's first Sauvignon Blanc vines were planted at Lenswood in 1994 and bore their first fruit in 1997. The first vintage was some 900 cases; we now make over 25,000 cases.
