Look at having equipment serviced now while any problems of this year's vintage are still fresh in the mind. Grape harvesters tend to shake themselves to pieces in the process of shaking the berries from the vines. Ben Brusnahan, manager of Ledgard Pruning Systems based in South Australia's McLaren Vale, says a check over the main chassis, picking head and picking posts of grape harvesters for cracks in welds and tubes is a must to ensure the machine is structurally sound.
