The distribution pattern of rice brown planthopper (BPH; Nilaparvata lugens) in rice (cv. Mahsuri) fields in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The pest showed a negative binomial distribution. Based on the dispersal parameter, BPH showed an aggregated distribution. The various indices of dispersal, such as Cole's index, David and Moore's index, and Morisita's index, further confirmed the contagious distribution of rice BPH.
