Computer-aided Building Plan Sanctioning Process in Municipal Bodies Nowadays it is not accepted that computer destroys creativity and should not be used for architectural design. Different graphic packages are used to develop designs and represent them. Municipal drawings and construction drawings are commonly prepared using graphic packages. Therefore, an obvious question is: can we not check the municipal drawings using computers? If it is at all possible these will, obviously, save tremendous.time in getting the drawings checked and sanctioned. Computer-aided checking of building rules has become feasible because of two broad reasons. (i) Numerical calculations have become so simple using a computer that a program can easily be developed to check the various inter-mingled complex rules.
