The work deals with the fabrication of long organic fibers (Aramid and Polyvinyl alcohol fiber) reinforced polypropylenes and their mechanical properties. Long organic fiber and polypropylene fiber mixed mats were prepared by a mixing machine which is called "Fiber separating/ flying machine" and then compression molded. Mechanical properties of the composites were evaluated by solid visco-elasticity, tensile, Izod impact, high rate impact and fracture toughness. The results were compared with those of long glass fiber reinforced polypropylenes prepared by the same fabrication method. It was found that long organic fiber reinforced polypropylenes can be easily fabricated with "Fiber separating/ flying machine" and that the mechanical properties of these composites hold higher performance than those of long glass fiber reinforced polypropylenes although these improvement rates were different with reinforcement fibers. Important findings of this work are that the solid visco-elasticities of long organic fiber reinforced polypropylenes show particular behaviour dependent on the characteristics of these fibers, and that fracture surfaces of Izod impact test are different with reinforcement fiber. It was found that fracture surfaces of Izod impact test are different from those of fracture toughness because of different fracture mechanisms (fracture speed)
