Managing miseries of livestock during drought period

The Bundelkhand region located in central India is on one of the most backward region. It is spread over two states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh with a population of 15 million. The region faces frequent drought, once in every 4 - 5 years. Withsemi -arid type of climate and poor agricultural activity, the livelihood of people is heavily dependant on livestock. The paper discusses the short term and long term measures that could be adopted to overcome the miseries of livestock.
