Watershed management models for Himalayas, Shiwaliks and Aravallis.

摘要

The concept of integrated watershed management was applied to the Sukhomajri watershed in the Shiwalik Hills, the Fakot watershed in the Himalayas, and the Bajar-Ganiyar watershed and Siha watershed in the Aravalli Hills, India. These watersheds suffered from erosion and denudation of vegetation. The major achievements were reduced soil loss, water conservation, safe disposal of excess water, employment generation, and increased productivity for agriculture, horticulture, forestry, grasses, milk, and fish.
