摘要

Kinnow (Citrus deliciosa Ten.) is a hybrid variety of mandarin group of citrus. The conservative estimation on post-harvest spoilage of kinnow fruits has been foccussed around 25-30 per cent (Singh et ah, 2002). Post-harvest losses of fruits in developing countries have been estimated to be in the range of 5-50 per cent or more of the harvest (Salunkhe and Desai, 1984). Most of the post-harvest losses eventually result from invasion and spoilage of fruit by microorganisms. Physical injury and stresscaused by poor handling may predispose the produce to attack by causal agents of fruit rotting. Fungi are usually the primary agents in the rotting of fresh fruits.
