The pteridophytes are well known for their beautiful foliage fronds and constitute a major group of plant diversity. Their immense variety and very ancient lineage - going back to the Paleozoic era - have made them a very interesting group for studiesin terms of evolution. The present study describes the distribution of the pteridophytic flora in Nazira Subdivision, Sivasagar District (Assam) where 60 species were collected belonging to 36 genera under 22 families.
