STUDIES ON ETHNO-MEDICINAL USES OF PTERIDOPHYTES OF RATNAGIRI DISTRICT (MAHARASHTRA, INDIA)

摘要

Nineteen pteridophytes were surveyed for their Ethno-medicinal potential, after the field survey and communication with tribal people. The pteridophytes studied were collected by the senior author during the ethno-botanical survey from different partsof the Ratnagiri District in Maharashtra (India). The field data were cross checked at various places. The survey revealed that all these documented pteridophytes have great Ethno-medicinal potential. It is necessary, therefore, to pay attention to harness their potential for human welfare.
