Rhizoctonia diseases of crop plants and their management

Rhizoctonia is a notorious fungus which lives in soil and cause many important diseases in crops like cereals, pulses and vegetables. Two species of Rhizoctonia are prevalent, viz. R. solani, and R. bataticola. Of the two, R. solani is more common and destructive.
