Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has reviewed its photovoltaic (PV) power generation roadmap and brought out in June a new roadmap called "PV2030+." To lower PV power generation costs, the roadmap focuses on technologies related to new materials and mass production.'This technology development strategy spans an extensive timeframe up to 2050, which encompasses not only issues associated with power generation technology, but those related to systems as a whole or social systems as well, with an eye toward making a contribution globally or ensuring Japan's international competitiveness," said Hideki Fukuda, Director General of NEDO.
