Knowledge is an increasingly significant factor of system productivity and value chains in agriculture. The report of the Task Force on India as Knowledge Superpower (Gol 2001) has also emphasized the necessity of developing the capacity to generate,absorb, disseminate and protect knowledge and exploit it as a powerful tool to derive societal transformation. The contribution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to the national development including agricultural development has been steadily increasing since early 1990s'. In ICT-enabled network, everything is added up. When the information is networked, the power and utility of the information grows tremendously.
