Studies of the influence of the roughness of the glass surface on creeping crystallization showed this influence to be positive, contrary to the data given in3. The tendency to creep proved to be dependent on the size of the fissures and the angle between their direction and the direction of creeping. The results obtained confirm that the primary process in creeping crystallization is the capillary-surface climbing of the saturated salt solution exhibiting creeping crystallization on the glass surface.
