Monocropping rice is the traditional practice in rainfed medium deep lowland (0-50 cm) condition. This farming practice is not much remunerative so farmers are after some improved technology that could bring more profit. This may require an intensivecrop management planning across the season utilizing the rich natural resources in this ecology. The Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack has developed a location-specific crop and natural resource management (NRM) that could efficiently help them utilize those potential resources and turn rainfed lowland rice production system into a profitable farming
