Lower urinary and genital tract trauma

Intraperitoneal bladder ruptures should be repaired when diagnosed. Delayed repair of posterior urethral ruptures remains the most popular technique either by the perineal or transpubic approach. Impotence from these injuries is caused by the accident, not subsequent surgery. Penile injuries need immediate repair. Ultrasound diagnosis of testicular injuries is accurate.
