Success of high intensity cropping systems depends on the selection of the genotypes, input management, labour availability, timeliness of the operations and availability of the financial resources. Among the high-intensity cropping systems rice-tona-sunrlower and rice-gobhi sarson-summer mungbean and sorghum-tori-gobhi sarson-summer mungbean have been found to be efficient cropping systems which would be conveniently adopted under the situations of assured irrigation of north India. These crop rotations, besides meeting the edible oil requirements, also ensure the supply of cereal and forages.
