Appropriate water harvesting and management technologies in watershed development

摘要

Water is the life-line of all activities and progress in rainfed areas. To manage scarce water resources it is necessary to have an understanding of moisture retention by soils and availability by plants, water loss and the mechanisms of control, ways of improving water-use efficiency, water harvesting procedures and principles and practices of irrigation.
