The problem of very low frequency field distributions in insulation is receiving increasing attention in electrical power engineering. In the present paper the stress distribution in a plane arrangement of two dielectrics with Ohmic losses is found by incorporating the resistivity into the complex permittivity. The frequency dependence of the stress distribution relative to the distribution at 50 Hz is derived for a range of resistivities of the components. The influence of the real and imaginary parts of the permittivities of the components on the stress distribution is investigated.
