摘要

The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne spp. is one of the most widespread nematode pests, limiting the world agriculture productivity (Taylor etal, 1982). Out of four important Meloidogyne spp., most of the plants are susceptible to the infection of Meloidogyne incognita (Taylor & Sasser, 1978). They can severely damage growing plants, including those in the tropical and subtropical climate like in India. Meloidogyne spp. are major pests on chilli in the vegetable growing areas of Gurgaon and they causeconsiderable losses in yields (Jain et al., 2007). Root knot nematode produces prominent gall in the root of plant, size and number varies with the host species and nematode population. Thus, affecting the uptake to water and nutrition in plants which ultimately shows unthrifty and stunted growth, this leads to reduced crop yields.
