OCCURRENCE OF TRAMETES SEPIUM IN INDIA

Trametes sepiumBerk. is reported for the first time in India from the temperate regions in the Western Himalayas, on structural timber ofCedrus deodara. The sporophores of the fungus as they occur in India and the cultures are described. The identity of the fungus was confirmed by interfertility tests between the Indian and American collections of the fungus.
