Dairy food safety case study: Enterobacter sakazakii and powdered infant formula.

The article discusses the characteristics and life-threatening effect of Enterobacter sakazakii found in contaminated powdered infant formula. The role of hygiene and sanitation in the dairy factory, detection methodology and the regulation on food safety are critical in the control of E. sakazakii milk powder contamination.
