This article presents an overview of the preferential markers that can allow identification of mastitis-resistant animals at an early stage. These predisposition markers are categorized into physiological, inflammatory and molecular markers in this paper. Studies on the identification of these markers and their use in selection for mastitis resistance are discussed..
