Food Safety and Standards for the Dairy Industry

Food recalls are an everyday event. Three million people die each year from food-and water-borne illnesses. Each year, in the United States alone 48 million people get sick; 128,000 are hospitalized; and 3,000 die from food-borne illnesses. The GFSI is an initiative for the continuous improvement of food safety management systems to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.
