"To ascertain the various constraints faced by the rural women in rearing dairy animals, the present study was carried out in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttaranchal. Three villages were selected randomly from Rudrapur block for the study. Forty respondents, from members of dairy cooperative in each village were selected as sample. The study established repeat breeding, non-remunerative price of milk and its products, non-availability of loan and high cost of treatments as major constraints in dairying. Certain policy suggestions were given to overcome the problems."
