Ethics of care, geography and foood: Surplus food recovery and redistribution in Turin

摘要

The paper is part of the debate about geography and moral-ethical themes. In particular, it deals with the question about care applied in the field of food and food poverty. Using - according with recent theoretical approaches - the feminist conceptualization of the ethics of care, the paper will discuss the results of the research conducted on two experiences of surplus food redistribution in the local markets in Turin, in order to analyze the sociospatial relationships. The analysis shows the opportunities of a new approach to the food emergency, which is characterized by a co-evolutionary path with wider changes occurred in the socio-economic context.
