Milk is the most widely produced agricultural commodity worldwide. India has travelled a miraculous journey from being a milk deficient nation to becoming the world's largest producer. Seeds sown in the past through milk revolution by Operation FloodProgram, have now flowered into an exceptional success story with milk production increasing 9 folds from 17 million tons in 1950-51 to an annual output of 146.3 million tons during 2014-15 as compared to 137.69 million tons during 2013-14 recording a growth of 6.26%.
