This article discusses the health benefits of omega -3 in infant nutrition and the alteration of milk fatty acids composition in milk fat of dairy cattle by supplementation of encapsulated oils and oilseeds. The potential health benefits of functional foods enriched with omega -3 in the management of human diseases is also discussed.
