A series of (#x3BD;5-C5H5)2Ti(SB)Cl complexes, where SB#x2212;is the anion of bidentate Schiff base derived from 2-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carbaldehyde and 4-substituted anisidines or aniline, viz. 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldene-4-anisidine, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldene-4-chloroaniline, 2-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carbaldene-4-bromoaniline, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldene-4-nitroaniline and 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1-carbaldene-aniline have been synthesized by the reaction of bis(#x3BD;5-cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) dichloride and Schiff bases (SBH) in 1:1 molar ratio in refluxing THF in presence of triethylamine. Resulting complexes have been characterized on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral studies, (IR,1H NMR, UV-visible).
