One of my lecturers once suggested we could only view life through our own eyes and experiences. Therefore, in my eyes, I believe all aspiring young farmers should go out and get as much experience as possible, having chosen a career which needs so many skills. I can only talk from my own experiences and give you a few examples in this article. I have been very lucky to have the opportunity to work away from the family farm, move around the country, get an insight into other businesses and try to prove myself.
