摘要

Condensation of 2-hydrazino-3-(3-chlorophenyl)-1,8-naph-thyridine 2 with different acetophenones in methanol containing a catalytic amount of glacial acetic acid affords the corresponding acetophenone 3-(3-chlorophenyl)-1,8-naphthyridin-2-ylhydra-zones 3 in excellent yields.The hydrazones 3 when subjected to the Vilsmeier-Haack reaction with POCl3-DMF gives 3-aryl-4-formyl-1-[3-(3-chlorophenyl)-1,8-naphthyridin-2-yl]pyrazoles 4 in good yields.The structural assignments to compounds 3 and 4 are based on their elemental analyses and spectral data.Compounds 4 have been tested for their antibacterial activity.
