摘要

Thirty five different 4-aryl-1-substituted 2,6-dimethyl-3, 5-bis-N-[(substituted) carbamoyl] 1,4-dihydropyridines have been prepared from a three component condensation reaction of N-(2-chlorophenly)-acetoacetamide; an aromatic aldehyde and a primary amine under four different experimental conditions. Except for conventional, all the experimental conditions are simple, eco-friendly, economical, and the reactions are rapid and high yielding. All the compounds have been purified and characterized by their spectral and elemental analysis data. The methods employed have been compared in terms of yields, cost and simplicity. All the compounds have been tested for their acute toxicity, gross behavioural studies and screened for their bronchodilatory activity by standard methods.
