摘要

A simple,economic and efficient one pot synthesis of some substituted 2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidines [3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones)and 2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-pyrimidines under solvent free condition and microwave irradiation catalyzed by tin(II)chloride dihydrate and tin(II)iodide is described.Aromatic aldehydes,possessing either electron donating or electron withdrawing substituents,react efficiently with urea(or thiourea)and beta-dicarbonyl compounds to give excellent yield of substituted 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones(or 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-thiones].
