NUTRIENT BASED SUBSIDY

HON'BLE FINANCE MINISTER IN his Budget Speech for 2009-10 announced the intent of the government to move towards Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Policy for fertiliser sector. The Budget for 2010-11 states the approval of the government for implementation of NBS with effect from 1" April, 2010. Implementation of NBS on phosphatic and potassic fertilisers as approved by the Government is the first major step towards comprehensive reform in the fertiliser sector.
