SSP has been a vital part of fertiliser industry in Phosphate space due to the added benefits leading to higher productivity and better soil health. Availability of P & K fertilisers is now ensured under NBS policy of the government however, there are issues like freight subsidy & other controls which give SSP industry a step-motherly treatment. This has hit the sale of SSP in the current times. There is need of government intervention to provide level playing ground to SSP with other fertilisers. Likewise, manufacturers too need to strategize their marketing techniques- by focusing on product, its availability and awareness among farming community. This would help SSP regain its position in the industry.
