Instrumentation and Process Control in Manufacturing of Phosphate Fertilisers at GSFC-Sikka

GSFC Sikka has two old streams for production of DAP commissioned in 1988. A larger third train was added in 2002. The old plants had digital instrumentation. The new stream has instrumentation with DCS and PLCs. The old plants were also modernized with DCS and additional instruments for measurement and control. The paper describes some of the major modifications/additions in instrumentation system at GSFG Sikka plants.
