Ford Will Spend more than pound;500 million over the next two to three years on regeneration at its Dagenham factory where workers have just agreed new flexible operating, writes Ian Morton. Brownfield areas within the 300-acre site will be developed to increase capacity from 272,000 to 450,000 units, to be split between a Fiesta replacement and a new model, code-named B257, based on the Fiesta platform, for which Dagenham will be the sole source. The plan includes a strong social element - Ford is working with local and national agencies to produce "a flagship programme for the regen-ration of that part of east London", according to Ford of Britain chairman Ian McAllister.
