At Fetsund, north-east of Oslo, Norway, Tor Norstegard and his small team are making great progress with the rebuild of Fieseler Fi 156 Storch Werknummer 1816, eight years after it arrived from the USA. The cockpit has now been completed, and the airframe re-covered and painted. The wings required some modifications as they had been re-worked and covered in the USA previously. They have also now been painted. Overhaul of the Argus AS10C engine will be the next task to complete, although much work on this has already been accomplished by the team. The aircraft will be finished as an Fi 156C-3 coded H3+BF to represent an example that served in Norway in 1943/44 with JG 5, based at Sola airfield near Stavanger.
