摘要

The cold reality of federal budget limits has hit environmental programs hard, and EPA's programs for evaluating and verifying innovative technologies has had to share in the pain. Already funded at a 50 level by outside sources, EPAs Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) program (www.epa.gov/etv) has undergone a recent restructuring to reflect these budget realities and pursue an even greater percentage of outside funding. As part of the realignment, ETV is focusing more tightly on the highest-priority technologies that the agency and its regional offices require to do their jobs. As such, ETV is one of several arms at the agency that are working to identify the greatest risks facing the environment and public health and to develop and deploy the technologies needed to address those risks.
