Screening of naturla products for new leads as inhibitors of I#kappa#B#alpha# kinase: 2-Hydroxy-6-substituted benzoic acids from plant extracts

摘要

2-Hydroxy-6-phentadecylbenzoic acid~1 1,2-hydroxy-6-(8,11-pentadecadienyl)benzoic acid~2 2 and 2-hydroxy-6-(8,11,14-pentadecatrienyl)benzoic acid~2 3 have been isolated from the crude extracts of plants from Anacardiaceae family by bioactive guided purification. Compound 1 has been isolated from pet. ether extract of twigs of Rhus semialata and 2, 3 from CH_2Cl_2-MeOH (1:1) extract of the dried pericarp of the fruits of Anacardium occidentale. All the three compounds show good I#kappa#B#alpha# kinase inhibitory activity.
