Amberlyst-15 has been found to be an efficient reusable heterogeneous catalyst for acetylation of indole,2-methylindole and pyrrole with acetic anhydride under solvent free conditions.Indoles and related heteroaromatics have been found to exhibit different important biological activities.They are also well-known for their antibacterial,anti-oxidant,cytotoxic and insecticidal properties.
