l-Butyl-4-aza-l-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane chlorochromate(BAAOC)in the presence of A1C1_3 affords an efficient and mild system for oxidation of a variety of alcohols,giving the corresponding aldehydes and ketones in refluxing acetonitrile.The experimental procedure is simple and the products are isolated straightforward in good to excellent yields.
